Lee Yeon Hee and Jo In Sung to Star in Sci-Fi Movie

Lee Yeon Hee joins the cast of Jo In Sung’s first post-military service project, a sci-fi movie set in the future. The actress will play Jo’s love interest, whose village he works to save. Jo will play a righteous high school student who cannot stand injustice.

The movie is titled “Kwon Bup,” and will be under the direction of Park Kwang Hyun. With the cast in place, the movie is expected to begin shooting in September.

Lee was most recently seen in endorsements with Big Bang’s TOP and on TV in “Paradise Ranch” with DBSK’s Changmin. Famous for his roles in TV’s “What Happened in Bali” and films “A Dirty Carnival” and “A Frozen Flower,” Jo was discharged from military duty in early May 2011. 

Previously, the two have starred together in an endorsement campaign for Fuji Film.

Rain to Have Project With Richard Gere in Three Years?

On his twitter for August 5th, Rain wrote, “I am so happy. I can’t describe it in words. I received an offer to work on a big project. So I met him. Please anticipate the project that will occur after three years. With Mr. Richard.”

In the picture, Rain is smiling with Richard Gere.

Netizens have commented, “Wow that is great,” “I will anticipate three years later,” “you are a true world star,” “Congratulations, you must be so happy.”

Rain will enter his obligatory military service at the end of this year. On August 13th and 14th he will hold concerts in Busan. After the Busan concert he will hold a concert in Daegu (August 27th), Jeju (September 3rd), Gwangju (September 17th), Daejeon (September 18th), and in Seoul on September 24th and September 25th. Also, Rain is currently filming a movie. “Flight: Close to the Sun,” featuring Rain and Shin Se Kyung, is an action blockbuster about a flight lieutenant on the Korean Air Force.

Nicole Kidman Cast for Park Chan Wook’s (Oldboy’s Director) New Movie

Nicole Kidman has been cast in a lead role for upcoming movie, “Stoker,” which will be produced by “Oldboy’s” star director, Park Chan Wook. According to the U.S.-based movie site Indiewire, Park Chan Wook’s new movie has confirmed the casting of prominent Hollywood stars, Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska, Matthew Goode, and Jacki Weaver.

In addition, the script of “Stoker” is written by Wentworth Miller, the star actor from “Prison Break,” where he played the role of Michael Scofield. He’s penned the script under the pseudonym Ted Foulke. At a film event held in Tokyo last year, Wentworth Miller expressed his admiration for Park Chan Wook, so their collaboration is something to look forward to.

Park Chan Wook’s U.S. debut film, “Stoker,” is a thriller based on a little girl that visits her mother and uncle after the death of her father. Nicole Kidman is slated to play the mother while Mia Wasikowska’s role is the little daughter.

Park Chan Wook is currently in the U.S. preparing for the movie. He’s scheduled to start filming later this year with plans of releasing it in 2012.
